The Beginning

Imagine this: you're keeping up with this amazing blog. It's about a girl who is going to college and she's written all these fantastic stories about amazing adventures she's had during her freshman year. The blog is so riveting and captivating that you just HAVE to share it with ALL of your friends! They have to read and revel in the amazingness that is this blog. You begin your message on Facebook that will be sent to every person you talk to regularly (about .5% of your friends) when you realize...wait a minute...you don't know the girl's name. YOU DON'T KNOW THE GIRL'S NAME?! How is that possible?? This girl has shared EVERYTHING with you. Her favorite places to eat, who she talks to on a regular basis, which professors she loves and which she hates. You know stories from her childhood and her plans for the future. You know her celebrity crushes and you've heard her gush about cute guys she's met on campus. You know her whole life story. And you don't know the most basic concept about her. The thing that even pure strangers know about each other. You don't know her name.

Well, I'm going to fix that problem before it arises. My name is Olivia. Welcome to my blog.

Here you will find the most incredible, insightful, and exciting stories you've ever read. Here you will find a new website to be addicted to other than Facebook, Twitter and Unfriendable. Here you will find eternal happiness and true love...

Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating.

I can, however, promise you a good time and a lot of fun. Sound good? Good.

The basic concept of this blog is my experience with college. And from the "Freshmeat" part of the title, I hope you've gained that it will be about my freshman year. I just graduated high school one month and one day ago. I am enrolled in the University of North Carolina at Wilmington for the next school year. I am beyond stoked. The beach, hot guys to teach me how to surf, taking the kinds of classes I want to take...paradise.

Everyone tells me that college is the highlight of your life. Unless they were the quarterback or head cheerleader in high school and flunked out of college their first semester. Which is much too cliche for anyone I know. Anyway, this is a chance for you to come with me and either relive, look forward to, or experience college simultaneously. I'll be posting updates quite regularly. I'm already feeling very dedicated to this blog. To you.

Parts of this might be funny. Parts might be serious. Parts might make you sick or cause you to die. I don't know, I haven't written it yet. So be prepared for ANYTHING. Remember, this is college, not my tenth birthday party where I thought I lost all my birthday money and found it later in my purse. That was the most exciting part of my day.

This will be much different. I can't tell you what it will be like though. But that's kind of the beauty of it. In this way, you will all be living my life with me. In this way, I can write everything in the heat of every moment, so every emotion will be sure to make it onto the screen in front of you. In this way, it will be real.

So to conclude, I really hope you enjoy this blog. I really hope I keep up with it between studying, socializing, and crying to my mom on the phone. I really hope aliens don't invade the earth, hack my blog and change my password. But mostly, I hope you all have a blessed day.

Ta ta for now,
Olivia
